Mark is straight talking, responsive and solutions driven. He graduated from the National University of Singapore and specialises in Intellectual Property (“IP”), Technology and Media Law. Mark’s work spans both contentious and non-contentious aspects of IP, including, IP Protection, IP Commercialisation and Enforcement of IP.

Mark is particularly passionate about developing IP law in Singapore through advocacy. A recent high-profile success which he was involved in was Global Yellow Pages v Promedia Directories [2017] SGCA 28. The Court of Appeal case now stands as leading authority for compilation copyright and the online database industry and was also Singapore’s first fully paperless trial.

Being an avid amateur photographer/videographer, Mark appreciates creativity and understands the value of IP. He takes a personal interest in his clients’ matters and pursues practical and innovative legal solutions.

Mark had the honour of recently being listed as one of Singapore’s 20 Most Promising Legal Luminaries Aged 40 and Under by Singapore Business Review this 2018.

He is appointed on the following committees:

Chairperson, IP Enforcement Practice Sub-committee of the Law Society of Singapore;
Member, International Trademark Association (“INTA”) Leadership Committee – International Amicus;
Member, Copyright Practice Sub-committee of the Law Society of Singapore; and
Founder & Chairperson, “ProTIPS”, which stands for “Professionals Talking about Intellectual Property in Singapore”, a non-profit organisation of young lawyers in private and public sectors which aims to enhance public education in IP law.
